How to Make Dollhouse Rugs

Did you see my daughter's updated dollhouse? It already looks so cute!

Now it's time to start furnishing it. I started with the bedroom and although the main "character" was the bed, I was really excited to try some rug making techniques.

I had the materials on hand, but if you don't they are very easy to find! I'll link everything below.

I started by looking for cute rugs online. I found a few but really loved this Lulu and Georgia rug for the bedroom. I saved the image and got to work.

I made sure the image was the size I needed it and printed it on iron on transfer paper (here's a similar one).

Here's the link to the rug, in case you like it for your own home :)

I grabbed a piece of scrap fabric with no stretch and ironed it to heat it up. Once it was nice and hot, I place the printed design on top of it (with the image facing the fabric) and ironed it putting pressure for about 30 seconds.

I waited a few seconds and peeled the iron on backing. Make sure you peel it while it's still hot.

I cut the fabric about 1/4 inch around the iron on and frayed the edges for a "tassle" look.

That's it! Now you have a beautiful dollhouse rug and the possibilities are endless!!
