My dreams of a strawberry patch just became a reality with these wall garden planters I recently built.
I've been meaning to have a designated space for my strawberries for a while and since they grow best when the fruit is hanging, this project was perfect for them!
I used cedar fence pickets for a few reasons. Cedar is great for outdoor purposes and it's know for its durability and insect and rot resistance.
The width of the pickets was perfect for the planters which means minimal cutting.
And lastly, you can't beat the price. The 4 planters I made cost me less than $20.
I used scrap wood to make the triangles for the sides. I wanted something a little thicker than the pickets to give it support. I added some support in the middle as well.

These are the outdoor screws I used (my favorite!). They don't strip and go in like butter.
Now tell me, what would you grow in them?
